We help you teach your kids to follow Jesus.

Sunday mornings for kids

Every Sunday, the dedicated Journey Kids team invests in the youngest members of our church community and teaches them about God and the Bible. Together, each class creates crafts, enjoys songs, and plays fun games as the kids learn.

child dedication

We believe Psalm 127:3, which says “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.” Child dedication is a time for us to celebrate and thank God for the gift of your children. It’s also a time for you, as parents, to commit to modeling what following Jesus looks like, and to raising your children to understand that they are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, to believe that the Bible is absolute Truth, and to know the importance of committing to a community of faith through the local church.

Click the link below to access more information about what it means to dedicate your child(ren) at Journey Church, then submit the interest form and a member of the Journey Kids team will get in touch with you soon.

what to expect on Sunday

Curriculum

Our toddler - first grade curriculum was designed by Deb Knihal, an incredible 16-year teacher at Gretna’s Wee Lambs Preschool with a heart for teaching children about Jesus. Deb has also been part of the Journey Church community for over 14 years.

Our elementary curriculum was developed by The Gospel Project. It focuses on pointing every story in the Bible back to Jesus in a heart-transforming, missionally-minded way.

check-in

Because your child is important to God, your child is important to us, too. When you and your child come to Journey Church for the first time, stop by the kids check-in desk (you can see it when you walk inside) to register your kids. Our team will help you register your kids and guide you to their classrooms. We suggest arriving about 15 minutes before the service begins so you have time to register your child, walk them to their classroom, and find a seat in the auditorium.

safety

Your child’s safety is our first priority. Each volunteer must pass a background check, and we have a trained security team in place to ensure your child’s safety. We also keep our children’s hallway security and use a security tag system for check-in and pick-up.
