sunday mornings

WHAT TO WEAR We dress pretty casually around here. You’ll see a wide range of casual clothing on Sunday mornings, including t-shirts, sweaters,  jeans, and sandals.

KIDS When you enter the church, the Journey Kids check-in area will be to your right. You can stop here to check-in your kids, ages birth through fifth grade, for a class. By the way, your kids are also welcome in the church service with you anytime, and you’ll see families sitting together with kids of all ages. Students in grades 6 - 12 are encouraged to join you for the service.

There’s space in the lobby and a service live-stream for families who need space for their young children to move around during the service.

SERVICE Before you choose a seat, grab a free donut or bagel and a cup of coffee. Services are held in the auditorium and typically include around 30 minutes spent singing together in worship led by a live worship team (guitars, drums, piano) and a 25-minute message.

PASTOR By the way, the guy you see here is Pastor Phil Human, the Lead Pastor at Journey. He preaches most Sundays and can be found between services in the lobby. One of his favorite parts of Sunday morning is talking with people who are new to Journey, so please tap him on the shoulder and say “Hello!” if you’re visiting.

when you visit, stop by the information desk in the lobby to introduce yourself and connect.

Your First steps

1

introduce yourself

Whether you're a long time follower of Jesus or a bit of a skeptic, you're welcome here and we'd love to get to know you. Click here to fill out the connect form to introduce yourself.

2

JOIN US FOR DINNER

At the next First Steps dinner, we’ll introduce you to the DNA of Journey and what it looks like to do life with Jesus. You’ll get a chance to meet our staff team and others who are also new, and we’ll share more about how to find your people and grow in your faith here.

3

FIND YOUR PEOPLE

There are four types of groups here at Journey Church: growth groups, community groups, serve teams, and support groups. Each group has a unique purpose and meeting schedule and you can explore them here.

our values

WE DISPLAY GRACE

We love and respect people regardless of their past, and we display Christ-like grace in a world that sorely lacks it. We’re committed to ministering to people who have experienced “graceless Christianity”, including those who’ve felt burned, burdened, or abandoned by the church in the past.

wE DECLARE THE GOOD NEWS

The Good News? The God who created you also loves you deeply and desires a relationship with you.

At Journey, we teach the Bible in a way that communicates this Good News and makes sense in today's world. Whether you’ve followed Jesus for decades, or you’re exploring faith for the first time, we believe you’ll find our teachings and the community here relevant in your life.

WE DEPEND ON GOD

We believe that no one will be all God intends them to be apart from complete dependence upon Him. We also believe that each person is on a spiritual journey with God and has a next step to take in their spiritual journey. We’re committed encouraging everyone at Journey to take their next step in faith.

WE DO GOOD

At Journey, the practice of Christianity is as important as the instruction of it. We help people use their gifts and talents to make a difference in people's lives around the city and around the world.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

    • Gospel means “Good News”.  And the good news is that the gates into the Kingdom of Heaven have been thrown wide open to all who will receive the free gift of salvation by placing their faith in Jesus Christ.  The “With-God” life is available right now for all who think highly enough of Jesus to trust Him with their life.

    • We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We believe it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

    • We believe that there is one living and true God, who eternally exists in three persons. Each person equal in every divine perfection, and the three work together to create, sustain, and redeem the world.

    • We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns himself mercifully in the affairs of all people, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ.

    • We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth.

  • The Holy Spirit is a divine person, sent to dwell, guide, teach, empower the believer, and convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.
